STEP 1 · WAVELENGTH

Why 445 nm?

Wavelength spectrum diagram showing 445 nm position relative to KTP and 980 nm

Blue-diode lasers operating at 445 nm occupy a unique window in the visible spectrum. Unlike 532 nm KTP lasers — which require frequency-doubling of an infrared source — or 980 nm diode lasers whose energy disperses into water, the 445 nm wavelength couples directly into oxyhemoglobin and melanin with exceptional efficiency. The result is precise, shallow tissue interaction with minimal collateral thermal spread.

STEP 2 · ABSORPTION

Oxyhemoglobin absorption

Graph of oxyhemoglobin absorption coefficient vs. wavelength highlighting 445 nm peak

Oxyhemoglobin exhibits a sharp absorption peak in the 418–445 nm range. At 445 nm, TruBlue achieves absorption coefficients roughly 10× higher than CO₂ lasers operating in water-rich tissue, enabling rapid hemostasis with sub-millimeter precision. This chromophore selectivity means energy is deposited where it matters — at the vascular target — leaving surrounding epithelium largely unaffected.

STEP 3 · PENTAPULSE

PentaPulse modes

The TruBlue 445 nm platform ships with five emission modes engineered for procedural flexibility: • CW (Continuous Wave) — sustained emission for extended tissue contact • Single Pulse — discrete burst delivery • Pulsed — configurable on/off duty cycles • PeakPulse — 24 W peak output for demanding applications • PowerPulse — 16 W pulsed mode balancing precision and power Mode selection is performed on the device console. Refer to the Instructions for Use for clinical setup parameters.
